Enables persons with visual impairment to travel and navigate indoors more confidently and independently with the guidance from the rubber mats. Safely guides users with visual impairment to their destinations as they are able to differentiate the sound and texture produced or detected when their white canes, or the soles of their footwear come into contact with the surfaces of the floor and the rubber guidance mats. The high colour contrast feature of the rubber mats against the ground surface is also beneficial to persons with low vision. In comparison to existing conventional tactile pavement, the universal design of the guidance mats allows wheelchair users to cross over it more easily, and thus helps in creating an inclusive space for all.
